VALO KNOWS Melbourne Australia's ED LIEW:

Australia is a wonderful place.
Well known for some of the best skating in the world, waterfront skateparks, beautiful people,
and laid back lifestyle.
Everyone is so care free and the most hospitable. It's contagious..
In fact I'm personally still on this High on life/Australian-buzz .
On our 2 week journey we were fortunate to cross some of the most amazing and unique people.
Valo Knows...
Ed Liew;
Our host in Melbourne/Music historian/Coffee buff/Cinematagrapher/3D Graphics Master/The Man with the Master Plan..at all times.
Right from the get go and before we even got off of the plane, Ed had emailed us a one week itinerary in detail.
He even gave us a weather forecast...
Weather:
It's currently Autumn (fall) in Melbourne, also known as early winter.
Melbourne is well known for its changeable weather conditions
So be prepared for anything, rain, hail, sun and cold.
These past couple of weeks it's been sunny during the day with an average
reading of 75.5 Fahrenheit.
When the sun is at it's brightest it can feel like 82 F.
Once night falls the temperature can go as low as 51 F.
Sydney is about the same but with warmer summers and cooler winters. And less erratic weather conditions.
Here's the forecast for your first week in Melbourne:
Wednesday Windy then showers. Min 57.2 Max 68
Thursday Cloudy. Min 50 Max 66.2
Friday Cloudy. Min 53.6 Max 69
Saturday Partly cloudy. Min 51.8 Max 71.6
Sunday Partly cloudy. Min 57.2 Max 69
We already knew what we were going to be doing at any given part of the day and we knew if it was gonna be raining or sunny.
Clearly Ed was the most organized dude we had ever met.
In fact Ed was so hospitable that he made us breakfast every morning,
(B Smith about to feast)

drove us where ever we wanted to go when we wanted to go (*as long as it fit into our schedule), and even
reserved time for us every day for coffee. No matter what the situation there was always coffee time.

and not just any coffee joints, the hippest coffee joints on his side of Australia..

Really can’t describe how amazing Ed is in so many words.
Just that Ed is the man.
Enjoy a brief interview. and get to know a lil bit more about who made our trip happen in Melbourne.
Interview:
How old were you and when did you first start skating? Was it in Malaysia? Or was it in Australia?
I was 11 or 12 when I first started skating. It was in Hong Kong... late 94?
Ask Billy Clarke in HK he probably remembers.
How often do you eat fruit and toast for breakfast?
I eat fruit and toast for breakfast everyday.
Do you put vegemite on everything?
No.

How long have you been making chocolate pancakes for?
I've been making chocolate pancakes for 14 years now.

Where did you get the recipe for chocolate pancakes?
I'm not sure... I just thought, Chocolate + pancakes = Yum!

How is it on some bites that it tastes like cocoa crispies..?
I would probably say it's due to the nature of the batter when it's cooked on high heat.
Grape seed oil is a key element, it's light in taste yet it still has a pretty high flash point.
We think you are the fastest walker on the planet. Have you ever competed in a speed walking race?
Yeah dawg. Way back in the day. I got my training from living in Hong Kong, they don't mess around
when it comes to walking. If you're slow you'll die on the streets -hordes of suits will trample you to death.
Where is your favorite place for what Australians call coffee?
Jaspers or St Ali's or BBD. Actually anywhere in Melbourne.
Parking in Melbourne is like parking in S.F. How many times has your car been towed in Melbourne? How were you feeling when your car was being towed the other day?
My car has only been towed once in my entire life. I was felt like a crumbling piece of window shop pie being picked up by a morbidly obese 50 year old business man when my car was being towed.
How many blue button up shirts do you have?
Two -no wait 3. Actually 3.5 one of them has lines on it.

We noticed you have about 30 maps in your car. On an average how many times a week do you get lost?
Not very often. I don't drive a lot. I normally take the bicycle or public transport. Those maps don't belong to me.
I only own one. Melways for life dawg!
Have you ever beat down a crocodile?
Yeah dawg.
Or ran over a kangaroo?
Don't be a chest.
or snuggled a koala?
You bet.
On a normal day how many times does your sister yell at you?
Once. Depending.
Are you moving? Where to?
Yes. Some place fine where the water tastes like cherry wine.
Is it ok if we post a picture of you on our site for your interview?
No.
What is our schedule for the rest of the stay in Melbourne?
Get shit done on time.
I just want to add I'm not happy doing interviews
-and I don't know why I'm agreeing to this.
-Ed thanks for having us man. You're a legend mate.
