5/22/08 Typical day in SF with Julio and Rob G

Started off the day by spot searching near the Golden Gate.

Jon says it's over there.

Headed across city to the sunny downtown area for a nice hubbas session. Just like the good old days... kind of.

Best spaghetti in town.

Emmy's challenge, JJ vs Rob G. Jon was beyond stuffed but Rob wanted more. Here he is grabbing for the leftovers on my plate.

Handled.

5/4/08-5/11/08 Final days in Portland, No skates, Back to the Bay, Swiss bearings, Filming missions

The final skate day in Portland ended up being the most succesful with both prime weather and deadlines on our minds. Unfortunately I accidentally left my skates in NYC so I was unable to skate the sick cement park we went to in the morning. Luckily Ross was shredding the entire place so it was at least fun for me to watch.

We shot a couple photos including this zero AO neg makio, then hit the streets.

First spot was a perfect street launch in the industrial area of some city next to Portland. Ross was getting pulled by a car boosting 540's and other spins from tranny to tranny. He was even nice enough to do a running man for the camera.

After a few more spots we headed back to the house for some portraits. This out-take happens to be the very first frame I took during the shoot, and is also one of my favorites. After trying a few different things with lighting and "poses" I packed up and said goodbye to all the nice people in Portland.

Home sweet home.

The first thing I did upon arrival was set up some skates I had previously been riding. The plan was to skate a bunch of skateparks with Ivan Narez in the next couple days so I slapped in a fresh pair of swiss bearings for maximum speed in the bowls. Got yours yet?

Mission accomplished.
